Your lot and your plan. Two styles we do a lot of.

Most of our builds land between $1M and $2M — the range where a custom home actually gets to be custom, and where cutting corners shows up fast. We build for that range, not around it.

We frame it, side it, trim it, and tile it ourselves — Les and the same crew, on-site, every day. We bring in licensed trades for excavation, concrete, drywall, roofing, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, because our insurance requires it and because those are real specialties. Everything else that makes the house the house, we build with our own hands.

Square footage and timeline vary too much project to project to give you a number that would actually mean something — a mountain modern view lot and a barndominium on raw county acreage are different builds with different problems to solve. We’ll give you real numbers once we’ve walked your site.

Mountain Modern

Cedar, black metal, and glass. This is the style you’ll see most often on a view lot or an in-town site in Whitefish, Kalispell, Columbia Falls, or Bigfork.

In Whitefish specifically, some neighborhoods require an elevation review before you can pull a permit. We design with that board in mind from the first sketch, not after a rejection.

What this style asks of a builder: clean lines don’t hide mistakes the way a busier style can. Every reveal, every window line, every piece of black metal trim has to be tight, because there’s nothing else on the elevation to distract from it. That’s where doing the work ourselves — instead of handing trim to whichever sub is free that week — actually shows up in the finished house.

Barndominium-Style Homes

A heated shop and a finished house, in one building. This is the right call on county acreage when you need real workspace — for equipment, projects, storage — on the same pad as where you live.

The mistake we see elsewhere: a metal shell with a house dropped inside it, where the living side still feels like an outbuilding. We build the living side like a house, full stop — same trim, same finish work, same attention as anything we do — and let the shop side do its job as a shop.

County acreage usually means no city permit process, but it doesn’t mean no considerations. Well and septic, driveway grade, and power runs decide more of the budget out here than the floor plan does, and we walk you through that before you’re locked into a number.

Mountain modern and barndominiums are our passion

The styles we love building most. But we’ll build anything that’s right for your site: a cabin, a remodel that’s really a new house, a plan an architect already drew, or something we haven’t built yet. We look at it the same way every time: can this site support it, and can we build it well with our own hands.
